Community Impact
Concept Lounging · Community Impact
Comfort that reaches beyond the home.
We believe furniture can do more than complete a room. Through practical partnerships and direct donations, Concept Lounging helps create welcoming spaces for children, families, students and communities across Zimbabwe.

Jairos Jiri Children’s Centre — Recreation Hall
In partnership with the Diplomatic Spouses Association of Zimbabwe (DSA), Concept Lounging helped transform the recreation hall at the Jairos Jiri Children’s Centre in Harare, which supports 168 children with disabilities who live and study at the centre.
Our contribution included manufacturing new couches and refurbishing existing benches to create a more comfortable, practical and welcoming communal environment. The completed facility was unveiled on 14 June 2025.

House of Smiles — Recreational Facility
The House of Smiles is a day centre supporting vulnerable children aged 6–18. Working with the DSA, Concept Lounging manufactured the orange couches and yellow tables used to furnish a dedicated recreational room.
The finished space gives children a safe and inviting setting for play, learning, social interaction and personal growth — furniture designed not simply to be seen, but to be used every day.

ALCOZ Home, Chitungwiza — Living & Learning Space
ALCOZ supports people with albinism in Chitungwiza. As part of a DSA-supported upgrade to the home, Concept Lounging manufactured and supplied the red sofas that now form the centre of its renewed living space.
The wider project created a more supportive environment for learning and everyday life, including study facilities and other practical resources. Our role focused on what we do best: creating durable, comfortable seating for a space intended to serve its community.

04 · COMPLETED
Harare Children’s Hospital — ICU Family Support Room
Concept Lounging provided the furniture for a dedicated Family Support Room serving the Intensive Care Unit at Harare Children’s Hospital in Harare. The project was undertaken in conjunction with the Diplomatic Spouses Association of Zimbabwe and Chiro Consultants (Private) Limited.
The room was created as a calm, comfortable place where families can sit, gather and support one another while their children receive intensive care. The custom green sofas help turn a clinical support area into a warmer and more dignified environment for families during difficult moments.

05 · PROJECT IN PROGRESS
Mabelreign Library — Creating a More Comfortable Learning Space
Concept Lounging is currently donating a collection of custom-manufactured sofas to Mabelreign Library as part of an initiative to create a more comfortable and welcoming environment for students, readers and members of the community who use the library.
Libraries remain important spaces for learning, study and access to knowledge. Our contribution focuses on something simple but meaningful: providing comfortable places where people can sit, read, study and spend time within the library.
The formal handover is still to take place. The furniture has been manufactured and is being prepared for installation. We look forward to sharing the completed space once the project is handed over.

Making a practical difference.
Our approach to community impact is practical: identify spaces where our skills can genuinely help, work with credible partners and contribute furniture that improves comfort, dignity and everyday experience. We are proud that the same craftsmanship that furnishes homes can also help furnish places of care, learning and community.
